Stick to the New Year’s Resolution this time!

Just from a few visits to my neighborhood YMCA, it is evident that there has been a sharp increase in membership – probably because of those darned New Years Resolutions. By far the most common choice for one is to, well, get in shape. Whether that means buying a bulky new treadmill to jog on while you watch your favorite show or actually capitalizing on that gym membership you paid for but haven’t used in the last several months, people are doing everything they can to slim down, or in some cases, to bulk up. Often a time though, people don’t feel motivated enough. They don’t see any difference in their bodies with all the effort they are putting in, and eventually, thinking its futile, give up.

Just one piece of advice. How about you give it a month. Take pictures of yourself now, and then in a month, do the same. Keep the same posture in both and see if there actually is a difference or not. Most of the time, people forget how they actually looked, and even in a month, don’t expect to go from 34 to a 30 in waistlines. Everything takes time. But we are talking about your body, shouldn’t you give it a high priority?
